7th Annual Oklahoma 100 Mile Yard Sale Tour Coming Up
It’s back and bigger than ever! The 7th Annual Oklahoma 100 Mile Yard Sale Tour is coming up Friday May 5th & Saturday May 6th, 2017. Looking for a bargain? Need to sell something or have a fundraiser for your organization? Here is your chance! Thirteen towns are participating in the two day event by having city-wide yard sales on the same weekend: Cleveland, Hominy, Ralston, Pawnee, Yale, Cushing, Oilton, Sapulpa, Sand Springs (new for this year!), Mannford, Jennings, Hallett, and Terlton. Westport will also be joining in on Saturday.
Now in its 7th year, the tour has expanded and is now over 200 miles long, making it the perfect opportunity to sell your wares or find that treasure you have been hunting for! Yard sale sites will range from large multi-organization sites to individual sites at people’s homes along the route.
The over 100-mile route is a tourism effort to promote the region and showcase these towns to visitors. The bargain shopping is the main attraction, but visitors are also able to enjoy exploring charming towns and communities, the scenic countryside, historic sites, local restaurants, and welcoming Oklahoma hospitality. This is a great opportunity to promote our areas to the bargain hunters that will be visiting.
This year there will be a fun scavenger hunt sponsored by Moody’s Jewelry. The winner will receive a $100 gift card to Moody’s – just in time for Mother’s Day! The scavenger hunt includes taking a “selfie” in front of a certain historic spot in each town along the route and emailing picture proof to the Cleveland Chamber of Commerce. Complete rules and details can be found on the website for the event: www.ok100mileyardsale.webs.com.
Maps of the sales will be available in most towns along the route. For a complete listing of where to submit your yard sale information or pick up a map in each town, and to see a map of the entire route, please visit the event page on the Cleveland OK Chamber Facebook.
